Chime is looking for a Software Engineering Intern  to join our product engineering team. You will gain valuable professional experience working with building scalable systems while innovating on the future of our mobile apps. This is an exciting opportunity to learn while playing a role in a critical initiative at Chime.

The Platform organization aims to provide high quality platform capabilities across the entire company, to ultimately help our members work towards better financial health, while accelerating development velocity across multiple teams within Chime. The domain of this org includes the App Platform, Experimentation, and Targeting. As small and nimble teams within Experience Platform, each person has a profound impact on the experience of each of our millions of users..

This role is structured as a 3 month engagement. The starting hourly rate offered for this role and target level of experience will begin at $29 and up to $42. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience. 

In this role, you can expect to

  • Work alongside our experienced engineering team to design, develop, and maintain software that powers innovative, member-friendly financial services.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, risk, operation, and user research.
  • Gain exposure to a variety of software technologies and programming languages, including but not limited to Ruby, Rails, JavaScript, React Native, AWS.
  • Have the opportunity to propose and implement your own ideas and solutions to improve our software applications and business operations.

To thrive in this role, you    

  • Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Have exposure or knowledge of the Ruby programming language
  • Have strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Are a creative thinker and self starter with a passion for consumer FinTech

Are flexible and enjoy doing whatever it takes to execute on complex projects.  Have a low ego and are comfortable working directly well with a wide range of stakeholders
