Fluidra is seeking multiple Software Engineering Interns that will work with our IoT Cloud, Mobile and Test teams at our North American Headquarters in Carlsbad, CA. This is a great opportunity to get hands on experience working with products that involve mechanical, electrical and software components. Come be a part of a growing organization for the summer of 2024! Internship expected to run Mid-May – August (dates are flexible based on school schedule). This is an onsite internship.     

WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE   

The Software Engineering Intern, Cloud Platform will be responsible for working with our senior engineers with research and development related to building APIs and Data pipeline for Fluidra’s connected products. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will get to work with a fun-loving team working on state-of-the-art cloud platform utilizing the latest AWS services. This team is responsible for areas of device to cloud connection, data ingestion, data analytics, infrastructure and DevOps along with APIs for command and control. You will also work with other teams building native, hybrid and web front-end apps in an Agile environment. Additionally, you will:  

As an Engineering intern, you will have the following key responsibilities:  

  • You will design, develop, code and test software systems for Fluidra’s next generation of connected products.
  • Commit to active learning and contributing to the cloud team’s objectives
  • Collaborate with team in an agile Scrum framework, attend daily scrum meetings, provide updates and meet the sprint goals

WHAT WE SEEK   

  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts, large-scale software architecture, networking and distributed systems, and AWS/Unix environments
  • Familiarity with some of the following programming languages including but not limited to NodeJS, Java, Python or TypeScript
  • Familiarity with REST API and microservices
  • Familiarity with tools and technologies like Git, Jenkins, AWS, Docker etc.
  • Highlight your project portfolio on GitHub or contribution to open source
  • You enjoy collaborating with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written

EDUCATION   

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field, and a strong record of academic achievement.
