Software Engineering Intern

Description:

We are seeking a Summer Intern for our software team with a passion for learning about machine control, testing, and programming methodologies. The successful candidate will learn about the Argo instrument operation, write and maintain software-based tests using Git, validate test performance, and record results to a cloud database.

Responsibilities:

• Understand the testing architecture and specific hardware tests involved.
• Work with the team to communicate test results effectively. Record findings in Jira.
• Maintain software tests in C# or Python.
• Perform tests on the physical Argo instruments.

Required Qualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.  
• Programming experience in Java or C# is required. Programming experience in Python is a plus.
• Experience with the Git source control system is required. Experience with Jira is recommended.
• Experience in robotics or control systems is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Experience with Excel and other MS Office
• Must be self-motivated with a positive “can do” attitude and demonstrate project management skills.
• Strong communication skills to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.

The hourly pay range for this position is $20-30 / hour. Work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training determine our salary ranges determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The ranges displayed on each job posting reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries but are subject to change if the leveling of the role is adjusted.
