Your New Role

Are you a talented agile software engineer looking for an exciting new role in Melbourne in Leidos Australia’s Intelligence business line? Our exciting classified programs at Leidos develop and support our Federal Government customers IT systems, including mission critical classified systems that cover a wide breadth of software engineering disciplines including enterprise systems, web applications, cyber security, geospatial systems and real-time signal processing. These are developed using the latest agile processes and industry best practices, leveraging leading commercial and open source frameworks and tools.

In this role you will:

  • Lead a small team of software engineers to build a mission system for our customers
  • Collaborate and innovate with our talented cross-functional and cross-domain teams developing and supporting compelling software solutions, constantly refining our approach and methods
  • Design innovative software solutions to complex problems;
  • Lead agile story mapping and estimation;
  • Integrate and deploy complex systems using SecDevOps practices;
  • Collaborate with the other leaders on the project including the project manager, architect, security advisor, test manager and customers.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies, customer demonstrations, engagement and innovation activities and initiatives and business development responses.

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a minimum NV-1 security clearance with the capability of uplifting to a PV clearance.

What You'll Bring

We are looking for experience with Agile, Scrum and associated methodologies and it is desirable that you have a Bachelor Degree (or higher) in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (with software engineering experience), however, we would also like to encourage candidates to apply that have a wide range of industry work experience from 2+ years. In addition, you will have:

  • Proven experience tackling and solving challenging and complex engineering problems,
  • Experience within an agile development team utilising SCRUM or Kanban
  • Demonstrated experience or exposure to all/some of the following:
    • Integration with external systems/applications (REST API, integration protocols, JSON/XML)
    • CI/CD tools and technologies and infrastructure as code (e.g. Ansible, Jenkins, git)
    • Experience with low-code platforms (e.g. Appian, Mednix, OutSystems)
    • Some familiarity with containerisation using Docker, Kubernetes
    • Some familiarity JIRA and Confluence
