You will work as part of a team of database developers that develop and enhance our database solutions and ensure they are operating, securely. The work is undertaken over multiple different solutions across the portfolio of databases.
What you'll do:
- Develop SQL Server databases and related applications.
- Write and improve complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Analyze database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with software developers and business analysts to ensure seamless data integration.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve database issues, including performance tuning and query optimization.
- Ensure data security and integrity by implementing best practices for backups, disaster recovery, and auditing.
- Create documentation related to database designs, processes, and workflows.
What you'll bring:
- 2+ years of experience as a SQL Server Developer or similar role;
- Proficiency in SQL Server (SSIS, T-SQL, SSRS, SSAS);
- Experience writing complex SQL queries;
- Familiarity with database design, normalization, and indexing strategies.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and reporting;
- Experience approaching a problem from different angles, analyzing pros and cons of different solutions;
- Work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members;
- English skills both written and spoken;
- Experience with cloud platforms like Azure SQL or AWS RDS;
- Knowledge of modern relational databases i.e. Oracle / SQL Server/ Postgres/ MySQL;
- Experience unit testing with PLSQL;
- Understanding of version control tools including GIT/Bitbucket;
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools including Jenkins.
