About the Role, Mission or Department Overview

The Reliability Platform Engineering Team’s mission is to allow engineers and engineering teams to observe and scale their systems in multiple environments, understand their impacts on our end users, and provide capabilities that improve Observability, reliability, and performance of their applications.

As a software Engineer on the team you will support the team on observability and tooling efforts by collaborating with partner teams throughout the company on a variety of Tracing/Monitoring/load test plans to help our partner teams to manage overall health of their application, workflows and scale the performance of their systems

This is a hybrid role based in our New York City headquarters reporting to the Engineering Manager, Reliability Platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • You will contribute to code reviews, provide solutions and software designs during team technical refinements, and write automated tests
  • You will develop in open telemetry supported languages: Python, Node.js, JVM, Go.
  • You will collaborate with software developers to design and implement reliable, scalable, and efficient software systems.
  • You will develop tools, scripts, and automation to improve deployment and monitoring of our applications.
  • You will monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize performance to ensure high availability and low latency.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2 + years of experience writing testable, thoughtfully designed code for production software in Go, Python, Node.js, Jvm 
  • Have a general understanding of platform load testing tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Sentry, Embrace)
  • Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform.Additional skills or experiences that would be beneficial but not mandatory, etc.

The annual base pay range for this role is between:
$104,000$130,000 USD
