The Security Engineering team of Product Security is responsible for the security features of the RoboTaxi and its services. Our core areas of focus include designing, developing, and scaling trusted robot initiatives. We develop features such as hardware, software attestation, identity management, software integrity, and network security.
We are also responsible for developing security frameworks that can be leveraged by multiple different teams to build, leverage, and enhance the security of the products and services. Including, but not limited to, developing the cryptographic protocols and algorithms used to secure sensitive on- and off-vehicle interactions, such as remote tele-guidance and manufacturing diagnostics. Design, Implement, and Evaluate against rigorous cybersecurity requirements for vehicle electronic control units (ECUs). Providing security guidance to internal and external teams through consulting, design and code reviews, risk assessment, and development of reference designs
Responsibilities
- You will develop on-vehicle security functions and maintain on-vehicle security components.
- You will develop maintainable and scalable backend services.
- You will collaborate with other software and firmware teams on the integration of security into their work products.
Qualifications
- Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
- 3 - 5 years of proven experience developing embedded software and/or backend infrastructure services
- Strong software development skills in Python and/or C/C++
- Awareness of basic cybersecurity principles and technologies (e.g. CIA triad, defense in depth, public key cryptography)
- Experience with cloud computing technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, AWS)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Bonus Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D degree in computer science or computer engineering
- Background in computer security, network security, or cryptography
- Familiarity with automotive software development and/or Data Distribution Service (DDS)
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $164,000 to $265,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
