Team’s Mission / Work Responsibilities
Team mission:
Our team’s mission is to make communication between customers and our systems seamless, reliable and secure.
The network is all about the communications between the users of our applications and the systems running these applications. Our systems are fairly complex, in different geographical locations, with variable hops depending on the data path.

Specific work responsibilities include the following:
- Design, implement, and manage physical network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Configure and maintain networking settings such as BGP, OSPF, and VLANs.
- Monitor network performance and security, identifying and addressing any issues or vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand network requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
- Implement and manage cloud networking services, including public and private clouds.
- Manage content delivery networks (CDN) to ensure optimal content delivery and performance.
- Troubleshoot network issues and provide timely resolution.
- Participate in network expansion projects and upgrades.
- Document network configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in network engineering.
Unique and Bold Challenges
- If you are a network engineer with experience in lower-level layers of the network, this would be an ideal opportunity for you to get exposure to the upper layers and cloud operations and learn on the job as we gradually reduce our footprint in our data centers.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on physical network devices.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, technologies, and security principles.
- Certifications such as CCNP or equivalent network certifications.
- An interest in, and willingness to learn cloud networking platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Demonstrated ability to handle technical challenges in Japanese.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise and knowledge of cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS or Azure
- Experience working with technologies such as CDN, Edge Networking and Istio
- Experience managing vendor relationships and managed service agreements
- Experience working in a diverse environment with different cultures and languages
