Team
The YB Anywhere team at Yugabyte focuses on enabling seamless deployment and management of YugabyteDB clusters across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. The team works on cutting-edge technologies in cloud computing, container orchestration, and distributed systems that make database management more accessible and efficient while ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Kubernetes and Java expert to join our YB Anywhere team. This role will focus on enhancing and maintaining the YB Anywhere platform, which enables seamless deployment and management of YugabyteDB across various cloud environments and on-premise infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Kubernetes, Java development, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product management to understand customer needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes-based solutions for deploying and managing YugabyteDB clusters.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate new features and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Work in a cross-functional team environment, collaborating with DevOps, Support, QA, and Product teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for development and operations.

Requirements

  • 5 - 8 years of experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science.
  • Strong software design and implementation skills in building infrastructure frameworks.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Java.
  • Solid experience working with Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Familiarity with Helm, Istio, and Kubernetes Operators.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration tools.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and database management.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new languages and concepts.
  • Exposure to Databases and/or Control Plane is a plus.
