Business Insider is hiring a Software Engineer III to join our Ads Innovation engineering team to drive and craft elevated digital experiences that not only captivate our users but also inspire our advertising clients.

The Ads Innovation group focuses on creating premium experiences while building foundational components that not only enhance efficiency and scalability but also serve the needs of both the newsroom and advertising clients, reinforcing the team's role as a strategic partner within the organisation.

The Role & Team:

As a Software Engineer III, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team comprising Engineering, Test Engineering, Product, Design, and Process. Your primary focus will be to build seamless, beautiful, and performant features and services that support our mission. You will report directly to the Vice President of Engineering and be an essential member of the Ads & Innovation team. This role is based in Belfast and offers remote or hybrid flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write readable, reusable, and documented code.
  • Work with team members proactively and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of Adtech, preferable google ad manager.
  • Utilise Debugging tools to address issues promptly.
  • Value and contribute to automated testing for codebase coverage.
  • Provide constructive feedback on best practices and platform standards.
  • Demonstrate curiosity about the entire tech stack from top to bottom.

The Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of JavaScript, Node.js, and Express.js.
  • Previous experience with React/Vue, Golang, MongoDB.
  • Experience measuring and improving site performance.
  • Experience with A/B testing and/or user testing.
  • Full-stack engineering experience.
  • A collaborative mindset.
  • Passion for taking initiative.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality code and following best practices.
  • A desire to contribute to the tech community through blogging, tech talks, events and open-source projects.
