We present sophisticated analytics through dynamic, intuitive user interfaces that enable our clients to find answers to their most important questions. While your primary focus will be on frontend development, you'll have the opportunity to grow into backend technologies and contribute across our entire stack.

As a Frontend Software Engineer at CB Insights, you'll be part of a cross-disciplinary self-motivated team with clear ownership and passion to shape the future using state-of-the-art technologies. You'll write quality code that ships often, while having the opportunity to expand your skill set into backend development.

Your Main Tasks:

  • Design and implement responsive, performant user interfaces for our next-generation market intelligence platform
  • Work with TypeScript/React to build beautiful, maintainable frontend applications
  • Take on increasing backend development responsibilities, with mentorship and support from the team
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to design and implement services
  • Consistently deliver well-engineered, tested solutions within agreed-upon timeframes
  • Participate in code reviews and sprint planning
  • Share knowledge with colleagues and help identify opportunities for both frontend and backend architecture improvements

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 3+ years professional experience with modern frontend development (React, TypeScript)
  • Experience with frontend testing frameworks and performance optimization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency developing in a Mac/Linux environment

Nice to Have:

  • Interest or beginning experience in Go or Python
  • Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with backend development

Please note this is a US-based role.

In addition to base salary, this role is also eligible for a bonus opportunity.

A little bit about our pay practices: Typically, we will hire at our Hiring Target, but actual starting pay may be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, market rate, the qualified pool of candidates, internal compensation, candidate experience, and budgetary constraints.
