Software Engineer II - Remote

ULTRA MOBILE is seeking a talented Software Engineer II to join the Engineering Team! Individual reports to Lead Software Engineer. Role is remote; must reside in the United States. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your usual day of awesomeness includes:  

  • Implement, test and maintain scalable backend services.
  • Develop and make changes to the company’s existing sites and applications.
  • Build and maintain mobile-optimized sites to ensure a robust user experience on all device sizes.
  • Work with our API team to come up with fast, scalable solutions for company and consumer needs.
  • Integrate server-side API calls into JavaScript driven web applications via AJAX.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams via an Agile development workflow and bring new features from design to production.
  • Architect technical solutions, analyze technical scope given requirements, and deliver technical design documents.
  • Manage production platforms and debug issues.
  • Collaborate on code reviews to maintain code quality and best practices.
  • Make recommendations for improvements on current systems, processes, and services as needed.
  • Learn and try modern web technologies while balancing some level of backwards browser compatibility.
  • Parse, search and slice our logs.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Have experience in Node.js/TypeScript
  • Have experience in React/NextJS
  • Have experience in AWS
  • Have experience with software development principles such as SOLID and design patterns.
  • Have experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Know the benefits of writing clean, understandable and maintainable code
  • Are well-versed in writing unit and integration tests
  • Understand high availability, robust systems and scalability principles
  • Have been through projects where you had to work with multiple stakeholders and collaborating teams to deliver a solution on time
  • 2+ Years of experience to build on

In support of the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the range of starting pay for this role is $115,000 - $130,000.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location.  We also offer a variety of benefits including health, disability insurance, 401 (k), flexible spending accounts, EAP, education reimbursement, parental leave, unlimited vacation, bonuses, and company paid holidays.  The specific programs available will vary depending on state, start date, and employment type.
