Software Engineer II

Irvine, United States

Paciolan is the #1 primary ticketing company in college athletics, and the #2 largest primary ticketing provider in the US including performing arts, arenas, and professional sports. As a leader in ticketing, fundraising, marketing, analytics, and technology solutions, we power more than 500 live entertainment organizations, selling over 120 million tickets a year.

As a member of the Tickets team, you will help in building the ticket management system for both consumer and enterprise users. Tickets are the equivalent of currency. They are delivered via Email/SMS or through application. It's imperative to deliver these tickets to their mobile wallet, at speed for download and use at the venue for entry. You will design highly scalable performant systems that facilitate this.

You’ll be partnering with Product to create solutions so our fans enjoy a seamless, delightful experience from buying/renewing a ticket to attending an event. We move fast and ship code to production daily. So, we rely on you to make decisions that can have a massive impact on the outcome. You’ll get to own the end-to-end development and operation of our ticket management system.

What you’ll do

  • Ship code to production in your first week
  • Leverage our paved road to ship faster and apply it to your day-to-day work
  • Collaborate with product, UI/UX, customer success, and fellow engineers to come up with solutions that meet the desired outcomes
  • Contribute ideas, research solutions, and write Request For Comments (RFCs) to gather feedback
  • Decide how to implement a solution based on tradeoffs
  • Master your Ticket domain and resolve incident responses independently
  • Develop insight based on analytics and suggest improvements
  • Mentor and help team members outgrow their current role

What you’ll bring

  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering or any relevant field
  • Experience building something you’re proud of in your favorite language
  • A deep desire to build something impactful and think like a founder
  • The courage to live in the future, dream big, and learn from failures
  • An insatiable curiosity to learn how things work and ask why
  • A willingness to seek and give feedback and grow beyond your comfort zone
  • Critical thinking to challenge the status quo
  • On our paved road
  • Java, Nodejs, React, Terraform, Serverless, Kafka, MySQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Kubernetes, Lambda, SQS, AWS/Kong API gateway,
  • k6, Gatling, CI/CD

How we chill

At Pac, we move at a fast pace but we are big believers in enjoying our environment and coworkers while at work. Play ping-pong or basketball. Grab your espresso drink and go sit with your team in the breakroom. Step outside of our breakroom to go to restaurants, the gym, and the sand volleyball court.
