Cybercrime is rising, reaching record highs in 2023. According to the FBI's IC3 report total losses exceeded $12 billion. With investment fraud and BEC scams at the forefront, the message is clear: the real estate sector remains a lucrative target for cybercriminals. At CertifID, we take this threat seriously and provide a secure platform that verifies the identities of parties involved in transactions, authenticates wire transfer instructions, and detects potential fraud attempts. Our technology is designed to mitigate risks and ensure that every transaction is conducted with confidence and peace of mind.

We know we couldn’t take on this challenge without our incredible team. We have been recognized as one of the Best Startups to Work for in Austin, made the Inc. 5000 list, and won Best Culture by Purpose Jobs in 2023. We are guided by our core values and our vision of a world without wire fraud. We offer a dynamic work environment where you can contribute to meaningful impact and be part of a team dedicated to enhancing security and fighting fraud.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated early-career Software Engineer with 2-5 years of experience delivering high-impact code in collaborative team environments. You’ll work across our entire technical stack, taking ownership of projects from start to finish, and confidently tackling increasingly complex challenges. You will collaborate closely with designers, product teams, and senior engineers to build and maintain customer-facing software solutions.

This role requires someone who is proactive in learning new technologies and approaches, comfortable seeking guidance from more senior team members when needed, and skilled in a range of development tools. You’ll have the chance to shape and influence the development process while growing your career in an innovative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a culture of psychological safety, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Deeply learn our business to successfully collaborate with other groups across the company to ensure our systems are secure, resilient, and deployed with guaranteed reliability.
- Design, develop, debug, and maintain scalable, high-quality software applications across the entire stack (we use C#, Vue, Typescript, and MongoDB).
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to plan out, estimate, and deliver effective solutions on time.
- Lead and contribute to code reviews, ensuring best practices are upheld.
- Confidently troubleshoot and debug issues in both frontend and backend components.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, and be comfortable adopting and applying them when appropriate.
- Engage with and suggest improvements for the engineering department, from the code to our tooling to our developer experience.

Qualifications:
- Although not a strict requirement, candidates for this position will usually have 2-5 years of professional software engineering experience, including individual and joint ownership of delivered projects.
- Proficiency with at least one object-oriented programming language such as C#, Java, C++, or Python.
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies and frameworks such as React, Vue, TypeScript, and SASS.
- Experience with common software engineering methodologies such as version control systems, unit testing, and CI/CD.
- Comfort working within agile development methodologies and practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to deliver solutions to increasingly complex challenges.
- Well-practiced troubleshooting skills, paired with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and craft long-term, durable technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners such as designers, product managers, and QA.
- Proven ability to take ownership of projects, balance priorities, and manage timelines effectively.

Bonus Points For:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with infrastructure and deployment tools like Docker, Terraform, and Cloudflare.
- Comfortable working with feature flagging tools such as LaunchDarkly and design collaboration tools like Figma.
- A proactive approach to seeking out learning opportunities, both independently and by reaching out to mentors.

- Health, dental, and vision Insurance
- 401k with matching and no waiting period
- Company Equity
- Wellness reimbursement of $300/year
- Life insurance
- Parental leave
- 20 vacation days
- 5 sick days
- 12 company-paid holidays
- 2 company-wide mental health half-days
