We are a well funded stealth startup in the eSports market with one goal: Make eSports tournaments fun and accessible to everyone. Whether you’re a novice League of Legends player or killing it in Hearthstone, we’re recruiting only the best to help us build the largest tournament platform in eSports.
Our team is made up of games industry veterans and the most experienced tournament organizers in the world - who have collectively run more than 15,000 tournaments to date. We are still a small team, growing quickly, and focused on building a world-class company.
Description:
Working closely with us you will be bug fixing, improving and adding new features to our platform. We are building a team of collaborative professionals who work well together, share knowledge in order to help enhance the skills and abilities of the team, and get work done using best practices as efficiently as possible.
You will start working from home but may be required to make visits to the office in future.
Someone already living in California is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with our team to learn the platform code base.
Fix bugs in the platform.
Develop new features in the platform.
Improve existing features in the platform.
Optimize performance of PHP code
Optimize performance of MySQL Queries
Write and perform phpunit tests
Assist in management and planning of assigned tasks including estimations of the time to complete them.
Participate in managing tickets through JIRA.
Take part in daily scrums.
Share knowledge with the team in order to enhance everyone's capabilities.

Able to interact well with others and communicate effectively with team members without incident.
An interest in growing and improving as a developer and sharing your expertise with others.
An interest in the subject matter (eSports) is preferred though not required.
