Software Engineer (Automation)

The team

This role is within the Enterprise Technology Services team and reports to the ERP Technical Lead working in an agile environment to provide automation solutions across different parts of the business.

About the role

The Software (Automation) Engineer is a key member of our Enterprise Technology Services team. Automation Engineers demonstrate passion for their craft in automating processes across a multiple enterprise platforms primarily utilising UiPath Robotic Process Automation (RPA). Automation Engineers participate in driving continuous improvements, enhance operational efficiencies in multi-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Aligning systems to SEEK’s overall technology strategy
  • Build automation solutions fit for purpose and follow current SEEK development best practices
  • Contributing to platform health, ensuring that our systems are secure, reliable and resilient
  • Focus on delivering outcomes for our customers
  • Deliver quality outcomes and engineering discipline
  • Translate business requirements into automation solutions

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience working with UiPath RPA (Robotic Process Automation) technologies
  • Building, optimising and enhancing business processes with automation solutions
  • Self-aware and proactive on continuous improvement and continual learning
  • Breaks problems down, analyses constituent parts and proposes creative solutions
  • Create detailed documentation to support the automation solutions
  • Creates and maintains continuous delivery pipelines using current practices, patterns & tooling
  • Designs and develops cloud native software
  • Implements software in a modern software development language
  • Apply continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
  • Experience using technologies such as AWS
  • Experience working with application programming interfaces to collect from or inject data into software systems
  • Previous experience with enterprise application development languages such as Java/C#
  • Proficiency using the Atlassian suite - JIRA, Confluence etc.
  • Previous experience working in geographically dispersed development teams
  • Positive, ‘can-do’ attitude with a clear sense of initiative
