What you will be doing:
Leading a multi disciplined data engineering team to deliver highly available data mining; storage and transformation solutions at scale in a competitive market
Designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code by default and evaluating new toolsets to reduce our cost to market
Ensuring the services we maintain and engineer are secure; scalable; performant; resilient; optimised and compliant.
Owning and setting engineering standards and controls across the data discipline
We need you to have:
Expert understanding of data flow at the enterprise level
Deep understanding of DevOps toolsets (Terraform; Jenkins; Groovy; Python; Bash) along with CI/CD concepts
Demonstratable expertise across core AWS technologies; EC2; IAM; S3; RDS; Glacier; Lambda; Cloudwatch
Experience in platform engineering; including implementing highly available platform services
Experience of supporting and running the services you have developed
Experience with instrumentation and alerting technologies ie Splunk/DataDog/Kibana
Knowledge of batch scheduling capabilities and data reporting
Knowledge of Agile practises and ceremonies
Experience of line management of Engineers along with running multi disciplined teams
And if you have any of these; even better:
Knowledge of Power BI; SAS; RStudio/Shiny
Understanding of containerisation toolsets
Understanding of AWS Batch; CA Broadcom and ActiveBatch; IBM MQ; IBM Connect Direct; IBM Sterling File Gateway; IBM Secure Proxy
AWS Certifications
Knowledge of Azure
