Software Development Engineer Intern

Complete an internship project at SOPHiA GENETICS whose mission is to build the future of AI-assisted medicine, joining the Data Science Environments, Technology Team as a Junior Software Development Engineer Intern. 

We are looking for an intern to assist in automating and improving the deployment processes for our genomic bio pipeline. The key focus of this role will be ensuring highly reproducible CI/CD and Helm deployments, enabling the rapid redeployment of a full stack of services required to run test and validate each new pipeline of the DS Teams. Each new pipeline created by our data scientists needs a dedicated environment to be deployed, tested, and validated.  

You will be involved in: 

• Designing, building, and maintaining a continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline. 

• Deploying and managing a Kubernetes (K8s) stack.
• Working with microservices architecture to optimize software stacks for scalability and performance. 

• Contributing to cloud-based infrastructure management and deployment.

Requirements

Technical competencies: 

• You can code, you have done some pet projects. 
• Basic knowledge of cloud environments and software stacks. 
• Strong communication skills in English. 

Social skills: 

• Team player: Proactively engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure smooth handovers. 

• Communication skills: Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
