  • Firmware Development Intern Engineer - As a Firmware Development Internship Engineer, you will be part of a team of growth minded problem solvers that are bringing to life world-class performance SSDs for our Enterprise customers. In this role, you will learn and develop protocol-based firmware using C/C++ and Python, work with team members to support and enhance CI test infrastructure, triage and debug complex firmware bugs, and develop firmware specification documents. 

  • Current student pursuing a BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, graduating between December 2024 and June 2025
  • Right to work in the US without requiring Western Digital to commence or sponsor an immigration case to employ you now or the future (for example, H-1B or other employment-based immigration case) 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications 
  • Coursework or projects with real-time embedded/operating system
  • Fluency with programming languages such as C/C++
  • Skills in test development, creating test plans, and developing automation software
  • Interest in HDD, flash, semiconductor, components, nonvolatile memory industry is a plus
