As a Software Development Engineer 2; you are in a team Contributor engineering role at Tesco. Your proficiency with foundational computer science and software engineering concepts is taken as a given; and you will have proven significant technical depth and breadth. You take ownership and accountability of the development of the products in your domain.
We are part of Data Science Engineering team and work closely with data science models. As part of this team; we offer and onboard new domain works for better optimisation of tasks which would have direct impact on operational cost across Tesco stores and warehouses. As part of this role; we are looking for developers who are proficient in backend (java) and devops(github actions) as a primary skill set and he should be keen to work with public cloud platform Azure and Tesco Private cloud.
He/ She should be able to
-Demonstrate in depth knowledge of IDE; language and toolset in java
- Implement critical path components in a large or complex or project.
- Profile and optimise code
- Understand threads; threading model and concurrent programming
- Comfortably test drive any feature/comfortable with TDD cycle

- Demonstrate a good understanding of cohesion; SOLID and how to apply
