As a Software Developer, you will be a contributor on a Scrum/DevOps team focusing on analyzing, developing, testing, and supporting highly complex application software.
This position is responsible for independently analyzing, developing, testing, and supporting highly complex application software. Some systems will be in legacy technology and require the ability to interpret code and process flows.
The engineer will provide technical expertise and guidance to project team members and help develop strategies for developing complex applications
Your primary objective is to ensure project goals are achieved and are aligned with business objectives. You will also work closely with your Scrum team and program team to test, develop, refine and implement quality software in production via standard Agile methodologies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build scalable, reliable, cost-effective solutions for both the Cloud and on-premises
- Easily comprehend and must have the ability to convert business requirements to technical solutions.
- Understanding of current technologies and experience with legacy technologies. Understands when the architecture needs to change to meet requirements. Understand system test principles and best practices.
- Ability to write technical documentation to support analysis and design recommendations and drafts.
- Build and test software code in current technologies and legacy applications. Knowledge of legacy technologies is a plus.
- Understand system inter-dependencies and limitations
- Build platform reusable code and components that could be used by multiple project teams.
- Provide cloud integration development support to various project teams.
- Maintain and document standards, best practices, and design/architecture patterns.
- Ability to work as individual contributor
- Provides support to internal users and support staff
- Assesses incident resolution and estimates application changes.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Must have strong verbal/written communication skills.
- Must have strong analytical and technical skills in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Experience in software development using programming languages & tools/services: : ETL Tools (Informatica), AWS and/or Oracle Cloud experience, Java, Strong SQL knowledge, Python, Scripting
- Other desired skill sets: Airflow, Gitlab
- Strong knowledge on Unix/Linux OS and Gitlab /Bitbucket
- Agile scrum experience in application development is required.
- Strong knowledge in AWS Compute: EC2, EMR, AWS Lambda is a Plus
- AWS Certification is a plus.
