Software asset management (SAM) provides a framework and set of processes that strategically track and manage the software assets' life cycle's financial, physical, licensing, and contractual aspects. SAM is an important discipline within Verisk's IT asset management (ITAM) capability. The SAM discipline aims to create a dependable account of software asset costs and risks, providing support for software strategy, architecture, service management, funding and sourcing decisions.
Everyone in Verisk is responsible for and involved in software asset life cycle management under the governance of the software asset management function. Software asset management (SAM) is the focal point for data analysis to support the effective management of organizational software assets, whether owned and managed by IT, third-party service providers or business units outside IT.
This role reports directly to the Senior Software Manager, reporting/partnering to/with procurement (SS&P) and finance (dotted line/Collaboration). Additional collaboration may include Internal Audit, Business Unit managers, and IT Risk and Compliance.
