About This Opportunity:
The Software Architect Manager is responsible for leading the architecture function to ensure the company's software systems' scalability, sustainability, and agility. This role manages a team of architects specializing in backend, frontend, and cloud, aligning technical strategies with business objectives.
The position plays a key role in the company’s transition to a Domain-Driven organization and supports platform teams, developer experience (DEVEX), and the creation of reusable engineering libraries. The Architect Manager ensures that systems and tools are optimized for long-term growth and innovation by fostering technical enablement and continuous improvement.
Reports to: Director Software Architect and Platform
Location: Hybrid Biassono, Italy
To help our teams work together effectively, this role requires you to be located in Italy.
Responsibilities:
- Define and drive the architecture strategy to ensure the scalability and maintainability of systems, aligning them with current and future business needs
- Lead the transition to a Domain-Driven Design (DDD) approach, ensuring modular and adaptable architectures that enhance business agility
- Collaborate with application platform and devEx teams, improving developer experience (DEVEX) by refining development tools, processes, and engineering libraries
- Evaluate and improve existing software architectures by identifying gaps, mitigating risks, and implementing best practices for system design
- Partner with product and engineering teams to design and deliver technical solutions that meet business objectives and ensure high performance
- Champion continuous improvement by fostering a feedback culture, enhancing tools, and advocating for modern technologies and methods
- Manage and mentor a team of architects, providing guidance, setting goals, and ensuring skill development across backend, frontend, and cloud domains
- Promote cross-functional collaboration to align technical decisions with broader organizational goals and drive technology enablement across teams
- Lead knowledge-sharing initiatives, including workshops, technical guilds, and documentation of best practices, to build a culture of innovation
Requirements:
- 10+ years in software architecture or related roles, with 3+ years in a leadership position.
- Excellent command of the English language both verbally and in writing.
- Proven expertise in Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles and modern architectural practices.
- Extensive experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
- Strong background in designing and managing APIs, distributed systems, and scalable applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as PHP, Go, Javascript, or others.
- Expertise in engineering tools, frameworks, and libraries for DevOps and DEVEX improvement.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building capabilities.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
