Overview of Role

66degrees is seeking a senior contractor to engage on a 21-week remote assignment for approximately 40 hours per week with potential to extend. Our ideal candidate will understand the value of teamwork and love living in the in-between of project delivery and managing high-trust client relationships. Interested candidates should have the following required skills and the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment. 

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing, architecting, and implementing microservices architecture.
• Deep knowledge of software architecture in distributed systems.
• Able to conduct code reviews and mentor software engineers.
• 5+ years of experience in developing cloud-native applications. 
• Proficient in Golang. 
• Familiar with unit testing and test-driven development (TDD).
• Familiar with the scrum process and Git.
• Experience establishing CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software delivery.
• Background in professional services / consulting.
• Strong communication skills.
• Eagerness to work in a teamwork/collaborative environment.

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in developing applications on the Google Cloud Platform suite of products and services, primarily with serverless architectures
• Experience with Spanner
