WHY WE NEED YOU

The Social Media Intern will focus on supporting content creation, platform management, and other general social media duties across Hydrow’s social and digital channels. You will collaborate with our social team and athletes to ideate, produce, and edit predominantly short-form, social-first content driving viewership and website traffic. This internship is a 25-hour per week commitment.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Produce and edit short- and midform video projects - everything from 15 seconds to 15 minutes
  • Support and assist development of content for the Hydrow brand's social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok)
  • Collaborate with athletes and production leads to develop video content concepts for execution
  • Assist with group moderation, engagement and communication within the Hydrow Training Camp Facebook Group
  • Support publishing to platforms such as Instagram, YouTube and Facebook, while maintaining best practices
  • Participate in daily social listening
  • Pitch new concepts and ideas for execution based on current trends and other content ideas
  • Analyze and report platform engagement metrics

WHO YOU ARE

  • 1-2 years working in a media environment, creating and managing content
  • Proven ability to develop engaging multimedia content, including text, images, and videos for public distribution
  • Fluent with video editing software or applicationsFamiliar with developing video content for public distribution
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Capcut, Canva, Google Suite, etc.
  • Strong copywriting and editing abilities
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills; you meet deadlines and produce quality work
  • Familiar with social and digital platform trends and nuances
  • Understanding of social media performance metrics and ability to analyze and report on findings
  • Knack for storytelling and up-to-date with pop culture, social/ internet trends, and general news
  • Comfortable supporting occasional night and weekend coverage
  • Ability to capture on-site content at Hydrow HQ in Boston as well as on-location at production sites in the Boston area
  • Great opportunity for a recent grad with a degree in production, journalism, film, or similar creative marketing
