Kabam is looking for a creative Social Media Manager based in Vancouver to develop and execute social media assets for Marvel Contest of Champions (MCOC) and Kabam’s portfolio of games, to elevate the company’s owned social media channels to new heights. Reporting to the Senior Marketing & Communications Manager, you will be responsible for producing content that excites our core community with each new content update and champion releases.
In partnership with the Product Marketing and Creative Services teams, you will be the primary force behind capturing game content sourced directly from in-game engines, editing them into short-form vertical video content, and creating static assets that will all play a critical role in enhancing social media and community engagement. You will also be responsible for the scheduling and publication of such assets on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, and YouTube.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Create social media content based on gaming trends, viral pop culture trends, or community trends that are designed to entertain and appeal to a product’s main target audiences that resonate with the core community.
- Capture video and static assets from in-game engines and use it to produce and edit engaging, short-form, vertical video content that will be published on Kabam’s owned social media channels including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and X.
- Assist in writing and editing various copy for marketing initiatives and branding assets on owned social channels.
- Analyze and monitor social media trends, especially on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, to find new and optimal ways to connect with Marvel fans and gaming fans at a larger scale.
- Increase engagement rates, viewership, subscribers, and reach of social media channels. Report and share inputs on key social media metrics to support the Senior Manager in improving creative production and publishing strategy.
- Collaborate with the Product Marketing team and contribute to the overall brand and marketing calendar with social initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on company branding initiatives (ex. Partnering with People team on Employer Branding)
To be successful in this role, your background includes:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field
- 5+ years of direct experience creating, capturing, producing, and editing video content that drove views and engagement on social media platforms and/or popular video platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop required
- A passion for gaming and strong understanding of gaming culture, trends, and genres
- A strong understanding and knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and clear understanding of how gaming is represented on those platforms
- A strong passion for and understanding of the Marvel universe, lore, and characters is preferred
