The role

Karen Millen, a renowned fashion brand with a heritage spanning over 40 years is on the hunt for an experienced and passionate Social Media Manager to take the lead on our organic social strategy. This role offers a great opportunity to showcase your social expertise and continue to drive our growth in new and existing channels.

As a Social Media expert, you will have a proven track record in delivering engaging content and growth driving strategies including content creation, scheduling, community management, planning and executing social-first campaigns, social reporting, and understanding the evolving social and digital landscape.

As an ambitious self-starter, you will be results driven, naturally curious and innovative with an eye for detail. You must be someone who is obsessed with trends and looking for an opportunities to develop trend-led content to engage and inspire our social audience whilst aligning with the Karen Millen Brand vision and remaining commercially aware.

This role will partner closely with our Influencer, Creative and Digital teams so you will be a strong, communicator with the ability to work collaboratively to deliver commercially optimised activations.

Your team

Each of our teams is the voice of their own brand, so we utilise creative campaigns, social media and influencer outreach, PR & Comms, and events. On the e-commerce side of things, we drive traffic to our online stores and generate sales through affiliate marketing, paid media, CRM and SEO. Everything goes towards achieving our mission to be a global fashion e-commerce leader. 

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the organic social strategy and ongoing optimisation of Karen Millen social media across all channels (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, Youtube, LinkedIn) in line with the wider marketing strategy to maximise follower acquisition and customer engagement.
  • Underpin strategy with clear and ambitious KPIs that measured performance and provide insight to inform activity.
  • Develop the social media calendar to support trade, marketing and reactive moments and share with senior stakeholders.
  • Manage organic social budget and POs.
  • Manage social media boosting plans to amplify high performing content.
  • Ideate and coordinate creation of social media content in line with campaign priorities.
  • Manage visual content creation for social media channels including but not limited to dynamic video (Reels, TikTok, Live and YouTube content) written and graphic content.
  • Produce and oversee original content such as ‘behind the scenes’ assets and other social first deliverables.
  • Work closely with the campaign team to create briefs for the in-house creative team.
  • Manage Social Media partnerships plan and support the outreach to partners and third parties to support social growth and competitions strategy.
  • Create reactive social content in relations to key events, social media trends, relevant celebrities and influencers that will resonate with our audience.
  • Work with the PR and Influencer team to create a programme of relevant and on-brand influencer content.
  • Measure the performance and impact of social media activity, create weekly and monthly reports and communicate results to the wider business.
  • Oversee the Copywriter to ensure TOV across social channels is in line with the overarching brand approach.
  • Protect the brand image by monitoring conversations across social media channels and implementing appropriate responses and proactive initiatives.
  • Manage and develop a team - a Social Media Executive, a Brand Assistant and a Copywriter and ensure that the team work together effectively and have clear objectives.
  • Some (but limited) weekend and evening work may be required.

More about you

  • Experience within a social media management role with a track record of follower acquisition, and engagement growth.
  • Social media experience within fashion, luxury, beauty or lifestyle brands required.
  • Deep understanding of social media landscape, platforms and trends within social.
  • Ability to work at both a strategic and operational level.
  • Experience with TikTok Shop desirable but not essential.
  • Strong editing skills including reels and video app editing knowledge.
  • Good copywriting skills.
  • Experience people manager - imanaging and coaching team members.
  • Creative thinker who is passionate about developing new and engage social ideas.
  • Collaborative attitude with the ability to develop strong working relationships with key business departments and 3rd party brands.
  • Strong business acumen and goal-oriented approach.
