Storage Engineer – Poly Clearance Required!

Praxis is a prime contractor performing on a High Performance Computing (HPC) contract in support of a restricted customer and a select mission partners. This contract provides advanced computing capabilities for scientific, data science and AI/ML workloads. The team provides infrastructures to  enable innovation supporting high fidelity, advanced analytics and models by delivering the highest quality technical capabilities, cutting edge computing and engineering support to its customers.

The infrastructure delivers a state of the art solution comprised of hardware, software, storage and networking as well as application, database and workstation support. The program supports an advanced computing infrastructure containing clustered GPUs and massively parallel CPU to enable the delivery of high fidelity, advanced analytic products. This environment provides unprecedented access to computational power and analytic throughput to solve some of the government’s most challenging computational and scientific problems.

What you will be doing

The successful candidate is responsible for maintaining existing storage capabilities, capacity planning, and architecting the programs storage solutions. Provides daily support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of storage systems. Manages the storage infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to HPC solutions including: day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all storage problems. The candidate will work cross functionally with compute, network, and user support to maintain uptime, plan expanded offerings and resolve user issues.  

What you will need

  • Designing, operating, and maintaining storage technologies (NAS, SAN, DFS, back-up and archives).
  • Performs server and storage capacity management and planning for the most complex and critical systems.
  • Providing second level problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
  • Providing support for hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
  • Providing support for the escalation and communication of status to management and internal and external customers.
  • Planning, coordinating, and implementing security measures to safeguard data.
  • Operations related to storage systems management software.
  • Installing, maintaining, monitoring and conducting advanced analysis of output and performance.
  • Familiar with storage architectures, operations and solutions including Hitachi, IXsystems, Rubrik, and Weka.
  • Experience documenting storage architectures and system diagrams to be used within engineering and as reference materials with mission partners
  • Strong communications skills.
  • M.S. with six years of professional experience, a B.S. with a minimum of nine years of professional experience, or no degree with a minimum of twelve years of professional experience       

Clearance:
Active TS/SCI with an appropriate polygraph is required to be considered for this role.

Salary range:

$121,739.00 - $247,262.00 (Annually)*
