We are currently looking for a Site QC Mechanical Engineer to join our QC team of our M Power Projects across UK.

 

By joining this role, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the quality and compliance of mechanical construction activities on-site. This includes executing and improving the Project Quality Plan, conducting inspections, verifying adherence to specifications, and overseeing the installation, calibration, and testing of mechanical equipment and systems. You will also play a crucial role in identifying and resolving non-conformities, conducting final walkdowns, and updating documentation for as-built drawings.

Your role will encompass:

  • Maintain safety standards and adhere to the Project’s Health, Safety, and Environment Management System requirements
  • Report to the Site Quality Manager, collaborating with the construction team on quality issues
  • Execute and improve the Project Quality Plan, ensuring compliance through project specifications, procedures, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and method statements (MSs)
  • Issue Request for Inspection (RFI) to the Client and maintain a register file for inspection progress
  • Verify inspections, checking required points, issuing relevant Quality Records, and reporting non-conformities to the Quality Control Supervisor
  • Inspect materials/equipment, monitor preservation, check calibration certificates, and control equipment installation, alignment, and leveling
  • Oversee welding activities, NDT inspections, installation verification based on P&ID and erection drawings, and preparation of hydrotest packs
  • Perform final walkdowns, verifying observations and monitoring punch item closure progress

What you bring to the role: 

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field or Certified Welding Inspector (CSWIP)
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical and NDE inspection activities in Power Plants or Oil & Gas.
  • Working knowledge of construction standards, codes of practice, regulations/legislation (PED, PE(R)S) in general, and particularly of ASME BPVC codes and BS-EN welding/NDT/piping standards
  • Experience with rotating equipment inspections
  • Hazardous Area installation and equipment ATEX inspection experience
  • Knowledge of safety regulations
  • Familiarity with MS Office Package (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field or Certified Welding Inspector (CSWIP)
