About Acolad UK Ltd:
Acolad UK Ltd is a leading provider of language services, specializing in transcription, translation, and interpretation. We are currently seeking an experienced Simultaneous Interpretation AV Equipment Technician to join our team and assist in the installation, operation, and troubleshooting of sound, audiovisual (AV), and language distribution systems for live events.
These events range in scale, duration, and location, with most taking place in central London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, operate, and maintain AV and Interpretation equipment including Bosch, Televic, Taiden, Sennheiser, and other related systems.
- Set up and deconstruct interpretation booths, using modular components that require on-site assembly.
- Operate general AV equipment for hybrid meetings, such as screens, PA systems, and PTZ cameras.
- Provide technical support for both in-person and hybrid event setups.
- Drive company vans to and from event locations, and assist in the loading and unloading of equipment at both the warehouse and event venues.
- Interact professionally with clients, interpreters, and other event suppliers, ensuring smooth communication and service delivery.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with experience driving vans.
- 1-2 years of experience working with AV equipment in live event settings.
- Strong communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Self-motivated, proactive problem solver with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Physically capable of handling and lifting heavy equipment in compliance with manual handling legislation.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills within a dynamic and exciting industry.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with simultaneous interpretation equipment.
- Familiarity with a broad range of AV equipment.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and IP-based AV equipment.
- Experience with virtual event platforms and hybrid event setups.
- Previous experience driving large vans or vehicles with a long wheelbase, particularly around Greater London.
Health & Safety:
This role requires manual handling and lifting of equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
