Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise Controls panelboard of the stemmed sugar conveyor.
- Oversee air redrying and conditioning.
- Pushes buttons to start conveyors in a specified sequence, according to daily packaging production schedule.
- Observe panel lights for indications of malfunction and adjusts equipment to regulate the feed of sugar into and out of silos.
- Observe the condition of sugar to ensure quality guidelines are followed
- Prepare bulk trailers for loading and shipment
- Operate and clean bulk loading equipment
- Ensure movement of correct grade sugar to proper locations
- Operate bulk loading scale, feeder screws, screw conveyors, elevators, etc., using an electric control board and/or push buttons.
- Retrieve and label daily and per shift samples for lab analysis
- Inspect empty tanker trucks, magnets, screens, scales, conveyors, elevators, etc. for cleanliness, damage, etc., and to ensure proper operating function.
- Check weightbridge scale according to manufacturer’s specifications; adjust scales, screens, etc. when necessary for proper operation.
- Clean work area, hopper care, and equipment such as conveyors, panel boards, scales, screens, magnets, etc, using solutions, equipment, hand tools, etc.
- Operate lift truck to transport waste materials as required.
- May perform similar additional duties as prescribed by foreman (plant’s chef)
- Perform all jobs under established safety practices and sanitation standards.
- Co-ordinate with all stakeholders to ensure a normal function of the station
Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
