Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts is hiring a

Sexual & Reproductive Health APC Resident

Full-Time
Care. No matter what:
PPLM has been a leader in promoting sexual health for more than 90 years.  We believe that all people deserve the information and expert services to make informed, personal decisions that affect their health, their lives and their futures.  We are the state’s leading provider of sexual and reproductive health services. We educate families and empower youth to make responsible choices that lead to healthier lives.  We advocate for policies that improve sexual health.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion:
PPLM believes sexual health is essential to every person’s overall health, well-being and happiness. We recognize that geographical and systemic barriers entrenched in discrimination and stigma prevent people in Massachusetts from having equitable opportunity to choose their own path and access to sexual and reproductive health care. In order to address health equity in communities across Massachusetts in an authentic way, we must start with ourselves. We are taking focused steps to make progress in our own organization. We have embarked on a diversity, equity and inclusion journey that will lead us toward becoming an organization that better reflects our patients and embodies cultural humility. We are wholeheartedly committed to this work.

The ASPIRE (Advancing Science & Practice Through Innovations In Research & Education) Center was established to advance excellence and equity in sexual and reproductive health. ASPIRE strives to destigmatize sexual health along with access to sexual and reproductive health care by producing evidence-based knowledge. The goal is to advance policies that reduce systemic barriers that disproportionately prevent Black, Indigenous, other people of color, LGBTQ+ people, young people, and people with disabilities from accessing quality sexual and reproductive health care. ASPIRE conducts clinical and social science research, evidence-based professional education, and clinical training, in partnership with academic institutions, teaching hospitals, health care professionals, social service and community-based organizations, schools, educators, and peer institutions.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate NP or PA to join our 2-year full-time sexual and reproductive health residency program. The program is comprised of hands-on clinical training, didactic and small-group interdisciplinary learning opportunities, research, and networking opportunities to provide a strong foundation to build a career path with potential for leadership roles in the field of sexual and reproductive health. The program offers a dynamic and supportive learning environment with opportunities for professional growth and development. If you are passionate about pursuing leadership roles in sexual and reproductive health, we encourage you to apply.

The residency is an intensive clinical program with an emphasis on building knowledge and skills in the following core health care services: gynecologic care, breast and cervical cancer screening and management, gender-affirming care, STI (sexually transmitted infection) testing and treatment. PEP (Post Exposure Prophylaxis) and PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis), contraceptive care, including LARC (long-acting reversible contraception) insertion and removal procedures, and medication abortion provision and management, including provision via telemedicine through PPLM’s “Mife-by-Mail" program.

Clinical training at PPLM is based on PPLM’s mission and values and consistent with standards set forth by PPLM, PPFA, Title X, MA Department of Public Health, OSHA, CLIA, and other federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.

The first-year resident will provide care directly supervised by our experienced trainers and have protected time and resources for learning and professional development. The second-year resident will provide care independently as a PPLM float clinician, with indirect supervision and oversight from the program director. The second-year resident will similarly have protected time and resources for learning and professional development. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients and supporting the healthcare team in delivering high-quality care.
