What we are looking for
This position will suit a candidate with a keen interest in Information Technology and a strong desire to deliver excellent customer service. Working closely with the wider IT team, you will provide technical support, solve basic user problems and answer queries relating to laptops, peripherals, mobile devices, office software, email and IM/voice/video communications etc. As the first point of contact for technical support, you will demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills and will be able to effectively manage your time to deliver on competing priorities.
What you will do
- Assist with laptop and mobile device setup, imaging, and installation as needed.
- Install software applications and apply updates.
- Review, prioritise, and respond to Service Desk tickets using defined recording practices.
- Assist colleagues with administration, troubleshooting and security functions in all areas of IT.
- Participate in IT Projects, taking the lead and volunteering
- Ensure that our East Hendred Office is up to date and concurrent with other sites (Equipment and Software)
- Perform other IT-related duties as directed by the Director IT Service Delivery.
- Set up and maintain active directory-user accounts and security groups. Perform Change Management with the Systems Administrator/Director IT Service Delivery.
- With the Systems Administrator implement defined procedures for Active Directory-user accounts and security groups maintenance.
- Help maintain and adjust as needed KPIs and SLAs both internally and with the business units.
Requirements
Who you are:
- Be able to demonstrate basic hands-on knowledge of Microsoft products. Previous experience in using MEM (Intune) and Autopilot is beneficial, not essential.
- Experience in using JAMF for Apple device deployment is beneficial, not essential.
- Experience in using GoTo Connect (or other VoIP systems) is beneficial, not essential.
- Have IT-related qualifications at least to A-level standard or equivalent.
- Previous experience (1-3 years) in a desktop support role.
- Proven interest in IT specifically focused on IT support.
- Can multitask and prioritise workload, while maintaining efficiency and quality of work.
- Be a team player with both the IT Team and the user community.
- Can troubleshoot and solve problems relating to Basic Network, intermediate PC, laptop, printer and mobile device equipment.
What you will need:
- Experience working with PCs to determine issues with the hardware, software or process.
- Ideally working in an organization with a structured IT process and Ticketing System, with interaction with a diverse user community.
