The SEO Manager is responsible for coordinating SEO work performed by On-Site and Technical SEO Specialists. The SEO Manager helps team members work in an efficient and methodical manner, holding true to Rankings’ industry-leading standards and commitment to quality. They prioritize the work delegated to the department, evaluate finished tasks for quality, and act as an escalation point for Specialist team members.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Director of SEO to help develop and implement SEO strategies.
- Actively participate in weekly SEO Level 10 Meetings (bring issues to solve that help move the department forward and strengthen the team of Specialists).
- Run a weekly Same Page meeting with On-Site and Technical SEO Specialists.
- Act as first escalation point for Local, On-site and Technical SEO Specialists.
- Perform comprehensive ‘Find-and-fix” SEO audits on new and existing client websites leveraging industry-leading SEO software, industry knowledge of on-site and technical SEO best practices.
- Review strategy-based SEO issues brought to the team by Account Managers or clients and recommend appropriate solutions
- Work with other SEO departments (Content, Local, Link Building) in a collaborative fashion to help achieve client and Rankings’ business objectives.
- Use data to influence SEO strategies.
- Work with other Rankings’ digital marketing departments (i.e. PPC, Social, D&D) to achieve client and/or Rankings’ business objectives.
- Keep abreast of SEO and integrated marketing trends.
Requirements
- Analytical and perceptive who is a skilled communicator and able to collaborate with various teams.
- Current knowledge of SEO practices and techniques is essential to this role.
- Proven experience as SEO Manager, SEM Manager or similar role.
- A deep understanding of relevant and current SEO best practices.
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS is a plus.
- Experience with SEO reporting platforms such as Rank Ranger, Ahrefs, SEMRush, Agency Analytics, etc).
- Familiarity with relevant tools (e.g. Conductor, Screaming Frog, MOZ, Ahrefs, GSC) and web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, WebTrends).
- Excellent and dependable communication skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Analytical mindset with numerical aptitude.
- BSc/BA in Marketing, Business or related field.
