Role Overview

The Server Management Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, and server infrastructure incident tickets management for data centers and office buildings. This role focuses on hands-on day to day maintenance of servers, storage, patch updating, OS upgrade, VM troubleshooting and basic knowledge towards cloud migration tasks.

 

What You Will Do

  • Server Management: Install, configure, manage physical and virtual servers, storage systems, and related hardware. 
  • Storage Management: Experience of installation and maintenance of Storage to manage daily operations for NAS and SAN at data center locations.  
  • Virtualization: Virtualization technologies including VMware, Hyper-V, and other relevant platforms installation and troubleshooting, patch management 
  • Cloud Migration: migration of services from cloud environments (AWS) to on-premises infrastructure. 
  • Configuration and Maintenance: Perform configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, storage, and network components. 
  • POC Servers: Configure and manage Proof of Concept (POC) servers for testing and validation purposes. 
  • Technology Gap Analysis: Identify and address technology gaps in current configurations following defined process/procedures. 
  • Automation: Should have knowledge towards develop and implement automation scripts and tools for server infrastructure deployment and management (Ansible experience should be with candidate). 
  • VDI Management: Experience of troubleshooting Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments, ensuring optimal performance and user experience. 
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation for all configurations, processes, and procedures. 
  • Compliance and Security: Experience of ensuring all systems comply with security policies and standards, and maintain system integrity. 
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and utilization, and implement necessary optimizations. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the IT Infrastructure Architect to support strategic initiatives and future planning

 

Basic Qualifications 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and  10 years of experience in server management, virtualization, and private cloud technologies with a secondary focus on AWS and cloud migration.
  • 8-10 Yrs of extensive experience with server hardware and storage systems.
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.) troubleshooting and daily operations.
  • 2-3 Yrs Experience with AWS and cloud migration processes.
  • Proficient in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and hardware (Cisco, etc.).
  • Experience with Linux and Windows server environments.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as MCSE, VCP, ITIL, etc., are preferred. 
  • Knowledge of private cloud platforms (OpenStack, VMware vCloud). 
  • Knowledge of VDI solutions (Citrix, VMware Horizon, etc.) and troubleshooting.

If no request is made until the end of this period, all of his/her hiring documents will be destroyed immediately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
  • Hiring may be restricted in case the legal qualifications required for hiring and work performance are not met.
