Sr. Vice President (Utility Services Regional Leader) 

Anser Advisory, a part of Accenture, provides Project and Construction Management support in the electric and gas utility industries. Our Program, Project, and Construction Managers, Engineers, and Utility Support Personnel provide Owner’s Agent oversight, work activity coordination, and technical support to deliver utility projects across the country.

Summary:  The Sr. Vice President will be the utility services capital project strategy and delivery lead, portfolio manager, and client relationship manager for XXX (utility clients) in the XXX (region) and will be responsible for supporting new business development and providing technical and operational leadership to enable best-in-class service delivery for multiple utility clients. The SVP will lead project delivery staff while also managing the overall professional relationship with area customers.  The ideal candidate will be an articulate, highly regarded industry veteran with a deep technical background that enables them to be a key technical resource for our clients and a strong leader to manage an experienced technical workforce.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads Anser Utility Services regional practice including key account leadership.
  • Serves as senior-most client relationship manager, engaging with client executives, project sponsors, and delivery partners.
  • Leads utility services business development, and strategy, consulting and delivery teams.
  • Oversees service delivery for a portfolio of projects within the region, inclusive of program advisory and strategy, project scope, quality, schedule, and innovation for the most complex and high-risk projects
  • Leads project business cases through executive approval process with stakeholders and leads detailed project presentations delivered to client stakeholders
  • Forecasts and monitors budgets to ensure program and project costs are managed, including development of recovery plans to stay within budget limits
  • Resolves issues and ensures effective communication across multiple functional lines including Engineering, Operations, Environmental, Work Management, Maintenance, Construction, Testing, Plant Accounting, Finance, Legal, Real Estate and Commercial Accounts
  • Hires, coaches, and leads team members to ensure that they can complete task plans, spending plans, and communication plans.  

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field combined with a minimum 10 years of progressive project leadership experience
  • MBA or advanced degrees preferred

Experience:

  • Ideal candidate has 10+ years of senior level leadership experience with an electric or gas utility, with a demonstrated, established network of contacts and key relationships within the regional utilities and utility leadership representatives
  • 10-15 years of utility project leadership experience within the gas or electric utility sector is preferred. Stronger candidates will have 15-20+ years of progressive utility leadership experience.
  • Candidates with executive leadership experience in utility third-party service providers will also be considered.
  • Experienced in establishing and managing relationships with senior utilities stakeholders
  • Possess strong sales and client relationship development experience
  • Must be able to coordinate work scope with multiple internal & external work groups or contractors
  • Extensive knowledge of Gas Utility or Electric Substation, Transmission, and Distribution Project Management and Construction Management concepts and principles
  • Experienced administering and managing a portfolio of large dollar projects as well as hiring and assembling the management resources to perform the work
  • Successful applicants will also be able to demonstrate business acumen and communicate effectively across multiple levels, both internally and externally
  • Deep knowledge of OSHA and utility safety policies
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Possess strong analytical ability

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 

Physical Skills:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Anser Advisory requirements
  • Must be able to travel to customer sites as needed
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation and drug screening
