Senior Threat Detections Engineer

CLEAR is seeking a Senior Threat Detection Engineer to join our Security Operations Center. You will be responsible for creating and curating detectors for threats. You will work within the Security Operations Center to build and maintain mechanisms to detect attacker tactics, techniques and procedures, and to investigate alerts. You will use internal and external threat intelligence and your experience hunting threat actors to identify emerging threats to CLEAR and create innovative detection techniques using network, system and application logs generated from across a large network.

What you'll do:

• Operate as part of the Security Operations Center to develop an in-depth understanding of advanced threats to our networks
• Build innovative new ways to detect potential threats, enrich alerts, and automate remediation and response actions
• Work with teams across Clear to identify and build these threat detections
• Provide support during security incidents
• Develop automated enrichments to improve the quality and context of alerts, and automated mitigations to minimize the containment time for security incidents
• Solve security challenges at scale, working to protect our applications

What you're great at:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security or a related field
• 5+ years of security experience
• Strong experience with cloud security best practices and malware analysis
• Understanding and usage enterprise log management/SIEM query languages, ideally Splunk
• Strong interest in emerging technology and high regulated environments
• Strong understanding of networking, applications, and systems preferred
• Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows and Apple operating systems
• Experience using EDR and other security agents
• Experience in common programming language, ie. python preferred
