Role Summary:

Using a suite of modern tools, the Automation Tester will play a pivotal role in helping us to automate our move towards a truly continuous integration and continuous deployment environment. You will work with our product and development teams to ensure that we are constantly analysing the automated tests that we design and execute for each of our products. 

You will report to the QA Manager, work alongside the Automation Test Lead, product and development teams to ensure a high standard of quality in our products. You will carry out automated functional testing on our products. You will have the chance to test modern products based on Microsoft .NET technology.

You will design, maintain and execute suites automated tests using modern languages and tools such as C#, Visual Studio, Selenium and Microsoft Azure DevOps.

You will be responsible for working through and developing our backlog to make constant improvements and additions to our existing automated tests. You will review and automate existing manual test cases. You will also be responsible for creating and reviewing defects, tracking their progress from their discovery through to their resolution, ensuring that they are adequately documented and tested.

You will initially be testing our market leading Diabetic Eye Screening software, gaining an intimate knowledge of the rules and processes that underpin the product.

Over time your role will grow and become more varied as you begin to test a larger variety of products across the NEC SWS range. We are constantly developing new and cutting edge, scalable solutions and we need a highly skilled QA expert who embraces problem solving on products built with new, well-structured code as well as elements of legacy code.

You will be someone who likes to push boundaries and enjoys rising to a challenge. We are a committed and supportive team with a ‘can do’ mindset. The requirement is for 2 automation testers.

SkillSet / Responsibilities

Essential:

• Designing and executing automated tests on the latest revisions of the software.
• Participating in the development of our automated testing framework, assisting our move towards automated testing in a CI/CD environment. 
• Interpreting requirements from existing manual test cases and specification documents. 
• Liaising with Manual Testers and / or Business Analysts to understand the requirements.
• Liaising with the product and development teams to ensure that our backlog is up to date.
• Providing estimates regarding the test effort required to complete work.
• Raising bugs and liaising with the development team from discovery through to resolution
• Setting up and configuring the testing environment and associated database(s)
• Working with and communicating frequently with a DevOps team to ensure smooth product delivery from beginning to end.
• Preparing the test execution report and sharing it with stakeholders.
