Forge is based in Columbus, Ohio, in a 200,000 square foot facility known affectionately by team members as, the Hearth. The Hearth, is a custom-designed cGMP facility dedicated to AAV manufacturing and hosts scalable, end-to-end manufacturing services.  

 

About The Role  

We are currently seeking a Senior Technical Sales Manger to join the Forge Biologics team. This is an exciting opportunity to join and be instrumental to the growth of the organization. The individual chosen for this position must have a combination of eduation and/or experience that allows them to provide technical expertise when interacting with current and potential clients. This role functions as a technical overlay for sales and delivery teams, focused on peer-to-peer and leadership level conversations with technical leads at client organizations.  This role can be home-based, but must be willing to travel 30% to Forge Biologic’s corporate office in Columbus, Ohio and internationally for conferences.

 

What You’ll Do  

  • Provide a scientific perspective and act as a technical interface between the Forge Biologics sales and delivery teams and current or potential clients
  • Act as a resource and leader in area of subject matter expertise for other Technical Sales personnel and/or scientists at Forge
  • Oversee technical scoping of client engagements through the proposal and contract stages 
  • Work closely with the sales team to develop specific account growth strategies and assist in the effort to expand Forge’s sales through current and new business opportunities
  • Demonstrates ability to build and sustain credible business relationships with customers and shares expertise accordingly
  • Develops, leads and/or facilitates trainings or other programs to internal and external stakeholders
  • Handle multiple tasks in parallel and balance workload based on the priority of assignments
  • Attend and participate in industry events, trade shows, vendor shows, and other related events as needed

What You’ll Bring  

  • PhD in Biology or related field highly desired
  • Hands on experience working in gene therapy product/process development or manufacturing, cell therapy or related field preferred
  • Experience in biologics or gene therapy CDMO preferred
  • Outstanding relationship management and influencing capabilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates a business acumen and drive for results
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands  

This position works in a typical office environment where the physical work demands will vary depending on the specific tasks and duties required of the job. This is largely a sedentary role; persons holding office positions are generally subject to inside environmental conditions having the lighting, temperature, and noise of an open floor-plan office environment. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Regularly communicate with others in person, over the phone, and electronically. Must be able to move and/or carry objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
