Role Summary
This role entails leading and directing a cross-functional engineering product team, collaborating closely with Product Managers, SW/HW Engineering Managers, QA Managers, Operations, Documentation, Translation, and Support departments to ensure the successful delivery of critical engineering projects. Responsibilities include organizing agile project teams to achieve outstanding results with a high level of predictability and quality, thereby delivering significant business value to customers. The ideal candidate is expected to possess a deep understanding and extensive experience in integrating traditional project management principles and practices with an Agile development approach to strike the right balance between agility and predictability.
What You Will Do
- Responsibility for multiple NSG engineering product releases from conception to release and sustaining. Aligning and influencing all relevant departments to achieve this.
- Create and manage Product Delivery Plans (PDP) for all NSG engineering projects.
- Conduct regular Product Ops meetings to coordinate actions and deliverables, and to eliminate issues and risks prior to first customer ship.
- Meet regularly with program team members informally to check progress against agreed actions.
- Clearly communicating program status to upper management and ensure that data is presented in a consistent and easy to understand manner leading to actionable conclusions.
- Continuously strive for process improvements for agile project management, reporting and tracking.
- Influence and persuade others to take a specific course of action when there is no direct line of reporting, including other Managers and up to Director level.
- Employ standard methods and techniques for planning, monitoring, and reporting against plan.
- Negotiate long-term program requirements that affect other stakeholders.
- Resolve conflicts escalated by other team members by investigating facts and providing solutions.
- Understand agile software development processes and how to map that into wider business processes.
- Understand and demonstrate experience in using appropriate tools for agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and all Office Tools.
- Ability to understand technical product details to identify issues and enable effective release management.
What You Will Bring
- 7+ years of program/project management experience in SaaS/Agile environment.
- Proven experience in working with business and technology teams including but not limited to: Product Managers, SW/HW Engineering Managers, QA Managers, Operations, Documentation, Translation, and Support departments to ensure the successful delivery of critical engineering projects.
- Demonstrated ability in communicating and presenting to C level executives.
- Experience with project management methodologies or SDLC (systems development life cycle).
- Experience managing large scale, cross-functional initiatives using a variety of delivery methodologies (i.e. agile, lean, scrum, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills with all levels of management.
- Strong leadership capabilities and strong interpersonal skills required.
- Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams in different time zones.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
- PMP or PMI certification
- Ability to travel 5% of the time.
In Canada, the base salary for this role ranges from $109,000 to $181,000. In addition to base salary, we offer additional compensation including bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package. A candidate’s specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
