Red Ventures is looking for a highly technical, results-oriented, and innovative Engineering Manager to lead an engineering team responsible for data and application development. We are looking for a collaborative leader who will understand our people, business, technology, and customer needs. This individual will help drive our culture of diversity, empowerment, ownership, and accountability while developing a team both technically and professionally. They will also identify and successfully implement improvements in our engineering processes, tools, pipelines, and architecture to enable us to deliver on our key initiatives.

RV EDU is proudly headquartered in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and is dedicated to cultivating local talent and driving economic development on the island. While many of our roles are located in Puerto Rico, some are also located at RV’s main campus south of Charlotte, NC, or are remote-based. 

This role requires a hybrid schedule and will be based out of our San Juan, Puerto Rico office, with in-office Monday-Thursday and fully remote work on Fridays each week. Please note that relocation assistance may be provided for qualified candidates who are interested in joining our team in Puerto Rico.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Technical Project Manager (SCRUM Master), you will have the critical leadership role of enabling and facilitating Agile process, productivity, and growth within RV Education’s engineering organization. You crave the opportunity for hands-on mentorship, by coordinating multiple teams, and ensuring smooth execution of the Agile Release Train (ART) and to accelerate not only your career, but for those of your team as well. Your responsibility would come in several forms, including but not limited to:

  • Drive continuous improvement, fosters alignment, and ensures that teams within The RV Education Engineering are working towards shared goals. 
  • They act as a bridge between the teams and the larger organization, ensuring transparency, removing roadblocks, and maintaining focus on delivery.
  • Drive a culture around excellence, learning, and connectedness.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders such as Customer Experience Associates, Product Managers, Architects, and different skilled engineers to deliver high quality software at a rapid pace for an ever-improving portfolio.
  • Change, and be a part of key decision-making processes within the engineering organization
  • Facilitation of Agile Events:
    • Facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning, ensuring alignment between all stakeholders.
    • Lead Scrum of Scrums, system demos, and inspect-and-adapt workshops.
    • Ensure cadence and synchronization of teams in the ART. 
  • Program Execution:
    • Support the continuous delivery pipeline and drive Lean-Agile execution.
    • Facilitate and track the progress of Initiatives, Epics, features and enablers.
    • Assist in managing and resolving dependencies between teams.
    • Work with Product Management, Project Managers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of priorities and scope.
  • Coordination & Communication:
    • Collaborate with system architects, development teams, and business owners to ensure transparency and alignment.
    • Provide program-level reporting and updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
    • Escalate and resolve impediments that affect ART execution.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Drive relentless improvement by implementing feedback loops and process enhancements.
    • Coach teams in Agile practices and foster an environment of self-organization.
    • Help teams reflect and adapt through retrospectives and feedback.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify risks and dependencies proactively and work with teams to mitigate them.
    • Communicate risks, blockers, and challenges to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support Portfolio Management:
    • Assist with program execution metrics, budget tracking, and aligning the work to strategic objectives.
    • Foster alignment of team goals with the overall organizational goals.

What We're Looking For

  • Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.)
  • Strong facilitation skills for large-scale events (e.g., PI Planning).
  • Proven leadership and servant-leader approach to support the ART and its teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in fostering collaboration among teams and resolving conflicts.
  • Ability to identify impediments early and work with teams to resolve them.
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Expertise in Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience in identifying and mitigating risks and dependencies across large teams or programs.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Project manager or similar roles like Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or RTE
  • Experience leading teams through multiple Agile Release Trains and Program Increments (PIs).
  • Experience with distributed and remote teams.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership. Strong fundamentals in software architecture at scale, effective engineering processes, and cross-team function.
  • Understanding of data privacy and security fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of Lean Portfolio Management.
  • Understanding of DevOps/Platform practices.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and architecture.
  • Technical background in software engineering, system architecture, or other relevant fields.
  • Our tech stack is primarily React / NextJS on the front end, WordPress (decoupled) / PHP / Apache / MySQL / GraphQL on the backend, and Github Actions / AWS for infrastructure.
  • Candidate will be working in document tracking systems (Confluence, JIRA, Atlassian Plan), Spreadsheets (Google Sheets, Excel), Visualization Metric Dashboards (JIRA, PowerBI, Tableau) and Collaboration tools (Miro, FigJam, Figma, Slack and Zoom)
