Senior Technical Program Manager

As we migrate to a cloud native environment we need a Technical Program Manager to oversee and guide the continued transition for our emerging data strategy workstream. This person will sit within the Technical Program Management group, an independent team under the Engineering group established in 2021 to support a transformative modern tech driven organization. Responsibilities

  • Establish a detailed program plan with a cohesive view of engineering workstreams and clear measurable milestones and sequencing

  • Identify ambiguities and dependencies; define and execute mitigation plans to minimize risk

  • Communicate overall program status, including milestones, dependencies, and risks, to program teams, stakeholders and executive sponsors

  • Coordinate and manage deliverables across multiple engineering teams to a successful completion

  • Manage and track cross-organization project dependencies; work with leadership, technical product manager, and technical managers to resolve dependency and timeline conflicts

  • Manage stakeholders’ expectations; address any questions, concerns, or feedback

  • Partner with engineering to investigate, deconstruct, and estimate (t-shirt size) large, unknown areas of work; guide the group toward consensus on a solution

  • Identify and address inefficiencies across the program that impact productivity, including jira organization and standardization, clear documentation, and cross-team alignment

  • Enable oversight on all features and designs to ensure all program goals and requirements are being achieved. 

  • Track and report on program economics and provide actionable feedback relating to cost benefit and return-on-investment standards

Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • 7+ years program management experience in a web development or related technical environment

  • Proven results establishing and optimizing software engineering roadmaps, delivering on product milestones and business objectives

  • Strong ability to rapidly identify, communicate, and resolve technical issues with multiple engineering teams and business stakeholders.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills

  • Strong ability to influence others and drive alignment among differing opinions

  • Tenacious with a strong sense of ownership, working quickly and effectively under pressure and time constraints

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and comfort communicating technical  at all levels in the organization

  • Emotional intelligence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science or related technical discipline

  • PMI-PMP, PMI-ACP or CSM

  • Familiarity with cloud platform (AWS) and on-premise service architectures

  • Work in a domain driven design environment

  • Experience in travel industry or ecommerce
