Role Summary
As the Senior Product Manager of Identity and Access Management (IAM) for the Sophos Central platform, you will oversee the development of services and user experiences that empower customers, partners, and Sophos product developers to effectively govern identities and control data and resource access within the Sophos Central ecosystem. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of IAM components, including identity management for end users and services, authentication, federation/SSO, authorization, and role-based access control (RBAC).
In this role, you will collaborate closely with product leaders to shape a comprehensive, long-term IAM strategy for the Sophos Central platform. By leveraging your expertise in IAM technologies and industry best practices, you will drive the evolution and enhancement of IAM capabilities, ensuring a seamless and secure user experience while aligning with organizational goals and regulatory compliance.
What You Will Do
- Strategic Planning: Work with management to develop and execute a comprehensive platform strategy for IAM, aligning it with the overall business goals and market requirements.
- Platform Development: Lead cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver innovative IAM capabilities, ensuring that they meet customer needs, provide robust security, and enable interoperability in our ecosystem.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and emerging technologies in the field of identity and access management.
- Requirement Gathering: Collaborate closely with customers, internal stakeholders, and engineering teams to gather and prioritize platform requirements. Define clear user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring effective development.
- Roadmap Management: Define and maintain a detailed IAM platform roadmap. Continuously iterate and update it based on changing priorities.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, executives, sales teams, and engineering teams. Effectively communicate product vision, strategy, and progress, and gather feedback to drive platform improvements.
- Release Management: Plan and coordinate releases, working closely with engineering, quality assurance, and other relevant teams. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality releases, managing dependencies and mitigating risks throughout the release cycle.
- Performance Monitoring: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the IAM features in the platform. Continuously analyze performance and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement.
- Industry Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements related to IAM. Ensure the platform meets the necessary security and privacy standards.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related field
- 5+ years of product management or engineering experience building IAM or related products.
- Strong understanding of IAM concepts, patterns, frameworks and technologies :
- AuthN / AuthZ : basic web authentication, SAML, OAuth/OpenID, MFA, Role based access control (RBAC), FIDO2
- Security standards and protocols : NIST Cybersecurity Framework, SSL/TLS, PKI, API Security, Directory services
- Strong, persona driven requirements analysis skills
- The ability to distill a complex set of requirements into incremental deliverables that are well defined and valuable
- The ability to weigh critical, well-informed trade-offs and have the data points to defend those decisions.
- Experience preparing and presenting a technical roadmap to customer and management stakeholders.
- Experience working within an Agile development process; clear understanding of roles and ceremonies.
- Strong collaboration skills to interface successfully with a broad variety of stakeholders across multiple time zones and functional domains.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate strategy, technology, and tradeoffs to customers, developers, and management.
In Canada, the base salary for this role ranges from $134,000 to $223,000. In addition to base salary, we offer additional compensation including bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package. A candidate’s specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
