Position Summary

Constantly new business opportunities within the online travel industry. We are now searching for a new member of the Tax team. The Tax team’s mission is to support ETG on its growth journey, with respect to VAT and income tax. Our Tax team is responsible for all tax related matters in the group and works in close collaboration with the other functions within Finance (Accounting, Financial Control, Business Control, Treasury and Order reconciliation) but also other departments within the company. Our finance department is located in Athens, Uppsala, Stockholm, India and Canada. 

We are looking for a mid - senior tax controller to the team with a broad responsibility within the VAT, income tax and transfer pricing areas. We have more than 40 legal entities around the world and operations in over 70 countries and are constantly growing. 

We are looking for an ambitious, mid-senior proactive tax controller with 5-7 years of experience from audit and/or within financial control or accounting. Experience from online sales companies with global presence is of high value together with a background as senior accountant or financial controller with exposure to tax and VAT-related areas. You also have a good understanding of accounting and set-up of an ERP. You should have a strong attention to details and you are able to lead complex projects within your area of expertise.

As we have a large presence in Sweden and Greece we are open for applicants in both Uppsala, Stockholm and Athens. 

 Responsibilities

• Prepare/review tax calculations and income tax returns
• Deliver month end closing tasks related to VAT and income tax to financial control
• Evaluate, monitor and improve the tax and VAT reporting processes.
• Support accounting teams in tax and VAT related matters 
• Participate and improving compliance and internal control procedures related to the areas of tax
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure compliance in our jurisdictions where we operate
• Interact with consultants all over the world and monitor the VAT and tax calculation process of each entity
• Coordinate and participate in connection with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities
• Participate in statutory audits related to tax

Participate in project related to digitalization and automations of accounting and tax processes – in close collaboration with our Finance-IT-team

Requirements

• BSc in Accounting, Economics or Business Administration
• 5-7 years of working experience in the field of financial control, advanced accounting or taxation, in a multinational organization
• Desired background is also Big-4 
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in verbal and written English and Swedish or Greek
• Strong at working with multiple stakeholders and prioritizing numerous concurrent projects
• Solid knowledge of VAT and tax area
• Solid knowledge within accounting and ERP’s (we are using MS Dynamics)
• Solid excel skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile environment
• Excellent analytical skills and critical thinking
• Ability to prioritize well, multi-task and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multinational team
• Creative problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement and learning attitude
