The Senior Tax Manager position will primarily be responsible for financial reporting for income taxes, income tax compliance, tax basis of fixed asset reporting and income tax planning. Note - this position is on-site and does not offer remote work arrangements.
Technical Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional Designation, Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) preferred
Required Experience:
- At least 5+ years combined experience with either: Income tax function of a public accounting firm
- OR Corporate income tax function of a multinational company
- Strong tax technical skills and thorough understanding of domestic income tax legislation.
- Ability to research tax matters, communicate results and recommend a solution. Working knowledge of international taxation.
- Working knowledge of state and local tax, including incentives for doing business in specific states, counties and cities.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures.
- Thorough understanding of the financial statement audit function and financial reporting related to income taxes.
- Experience working with different departments (ex. treasury, accounting, legal) within an organization on tax matters.
- Assist with tax diligence on acquisitions
Financial Reporting of Income Taxes:
- Responsible for the preparation and review of the monthly and annual U.S. income tax provisions
- Identify and recommend standardized policies and procedures to centralize and support the timely and accurate financial reporting of income taxes.
- Monitor and assess tax risks in the US, including the review of uncertain tax positions to ensure in line with ASC 740 accounting standards.
Compliance:
- Responsible for the review of the calculation of all income tax installments.
- Leverage the annual budget process and financial forecasts to ensure cash payments are minimized, and ensure any applicable refunds are collected as quickly as possible.
- Responsible for coordination of information necessary for compliance process with various company. subsidiaries and coordination of information and process with outside service providers.
- Responsible for the review of all U.S. income and franchise tax returns.
- Responsible for the monitoring of all annual report filings.
- Review tax fixed asset calculations.
- Identify and recommend standardized policies and procedures to centralize and support the efficient, timely and accurate preparation of all filings.
- Review Annual returns for foreign affiliates.
- Effectively manage all tax audits and respond to all tax notices and related correspondence.
Software Knowledge:
- Proficiency with Microsoft suite of products
- Knowledge of Oracle Planning and Budget Cloud Solution and its capabilities a plus
