OakNorth is seeking a highly driven Senior Talent Partner to help lead our expansion in the US. As the first Talent Acquisition team member in the US, you’ll have the opportunity to make an immediate impact by supporting our ambitious growth plans. Having launched in the market earlier this year, we’re laser-focused on scaling our team to support our continued success.
Since our inception in 2015, OakNorth has lent over $13bn to high-growth businesses in both the UK and US, operating in the top 1% of commercial banks globally.
We recently secured authorisation from the Federal Reserve and the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) for a Representative Office in New York, allowing us to proactively market our products and services.
We’re actively building out our US team with a focus on C&I & Real estate lending and are looking for a Senior Talent Partner who will play a key role in driving this growth. Reporting to the (Commercial) TA lead in London, you will work as a trusted partner to senior leadership and help attract top-tier talent that will power OakNorth’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

Full-Cycle Recruitment: Manage the complete recruitment process, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for candidates from sourcing and application to hire. Continuously refine and maintain fair, unbiased interview practices.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with Hiring Managers and People Partners to understand hiring needs and design effective recruitment strategies.

Strategic Sourcing: Conduct in-depth market research to identify and attract top senior talent. Build and manage talent pipelines for critical roles.

Data-Driven Recruitment: Analyse key recruitment metrics (source of hire, time-to-fill, quality of hire, and candidate experience) to inform strategies and improve processes.

Employer Branding: Collaborate with our marketing team in London and lead initiatives to enhance our employer brand, such as working together to create compelling content that showcases our US offering and attracts top talent.

Project Management: Oversee talent acquisition projects from start to finish, ensuring milestones are met. Leverage industry knowledge and insights to drive continuous improvement in recruitment processes.
What We’re Looking For:
- In-house recruiting experience within financial services or banking is essential, with roles covering C&I, Real Estate (originators, credit directors, transaction execution lawyers and associates), and other business functions.
- Market knowledge and network of the banking/ financial services talent landscape in New York is essential.
- A self-starter who can work autonomously with hiring managers across the business, proactively building talent pipelines, and using creative strategies to attract top talent.
- A process-driven mindset, always looking to improve efficiencies in collaboration with People and Talent Acquisition teams, ensuring a stellar candidate experience.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders in a resourceful and solution-oriented way.
- Comfortable with using data to support hiring managers in making informed, data-driven decisions and identifying areas for process improvement.
- Experience leading Talent Acquisition (TA) projects from conception to completion, with a focus on team development and impactful outcomes.
- A relentless approach to sourcing high-calibre talent, with expertise in research and the development of consistent interview processes.
- Proven experience in creating and executing inclusive sourcing strategies.
- Proficiency in using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) for managing candidates and LinkedIn Recruiter for direct sourcing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written as well as verbal)
- Resourceful problem solver with a focus on delivery (ability to multitask is also crucial)
- Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment where you can create your own opportunities
