Senior Systems Engineer (GNSS)

About the role:

We are looking for a GNSS Systems Engineer to drive current and future localization capabilities that meet Skydio’s product vision.  The ideal candidate will be an experienced self-starter with a deep understanding of GNSS systems operating in real-world environments.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Set and drive performance requirements for GNSS systems across all Skydio products
  • Develop methods to measure and analyze the performance of current and future GNSS systems
  • Drive architecture specifications for GNSS systems in future Skydio products
  • Collaborate with the cross-functional teams to triage and resolve performance issues
  • Collaborate with autonomy teams on the integration of GNSS data in sensor fusion and estimation algorithms

What makes you a good fit:

  • 5+ years of experience working on GNSS systems 
  • Deep understanding of GNSS fundamentals and the factors that influence their performance in real systems
  • Familiarity with the GNSS RF receive chain
  • Familiarity with RTK/PPK GNSS engines
  • Proficiency in C++ & Python, strong data analysis skills
  • Experience developing & integrating embedded GNSS software features
  • Strong communication skills for clear reporting of data analysis and conclusions

Compensation: At Skydio, our compensation packages for full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of options, comprehensive benefits, and various incentives and stipends. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $184,000 - 240,000*.
