Pay: $140K (depending on experience) - Full-Time with Benefits
SDS is seeking a Senior System Engineer to support the Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS). The Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) Information & Technology (I&T) provides support and assistance for: DISA Automated Time Attendance and Production System (DATAAPS), Headquarters Accounting Reporting System (HQARS), and Wounded in Action (WIA).
Under general direction, the System Engineer – Senior (WIA) will perform high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of highly complex applications requiring extensive administrative and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Java development and will play a key role in all phases of system development, with a strong emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing, and acceptance phases (IV&V and DT&E).
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and participate in all phases of system development lifecycle, focusing on planning, evaluation, integration, and testing.
Apply advanced business or technical principles to complex technical problems, delivering automated engineering solutions.
Design and prepare technical reports, documentation, charts, and graphs to support results.
Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required by the Task Order.
Serve as a Task Leader, ensuring quality and service delivery for assigned tasks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system functionality and performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Active Secret Clearance
Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of related experience OR Associates Degree and 8 years of related experience
Proficiency in Java development and Java Scripting is required.
Experience and/or knowledge with the following Computer Languages and Tools:
Struts/Struts2
HTML/XHTML, XML.
Capability Maturity Model (CMMI).
Oracle DBA and Oracle PL/SQL.
WebLogic application server.
