The Senior Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, installing, configuring, analyzing, and maintaining servers, systems, storage, and subsystems.
Working collaboratively within the Sysadmin team consisting of internal resources and service providers, this individual contributes to various projects initiated by different departments, ensuring optimal system performance and the timely completion of technical infrastructure projects and operational tasks
Responsibilities:
- In-depth experience and knowledge of Windows-based operating environments
- Expertise in the configuration, design, and troubleshooting of Windows systems, particularly Windows Server
- Application of industry best practices and standards in building Windows system environments
- Proficiency in resolving complex system issues and providing operational support for both Linux and Windows-based systems
- Demonstrated experience with VMware virtualization in both on-premises and cloud settings
- Hands-on experience with provisioning, monitoring, and managing virtual resources and software in hybrid cloud environments
- Knowledge of VDI and advanced expertise in Citrix Workspace
- Skills in system monitoring, backup management, and performance maintenance
- Ability to apply necessary operating system and security patches
- PowerShell scripting and command line proficiency
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills and the capacity to visualize and implement necessary technology solutions and infrastructure
- Strong analytical skills for risk-benefit analysis of technology solutions
- Adherence to ITIL standard processes for routine tasks and issue resolution
- Role as a primary contact for server infrastructure-related escalations
- Collaborative coordination with various IT infrastructure teams
- Responsible for documentation and updates as required by the Project Plan and DC Cloud owned technology
- Direct collaboration with vendors for third-party server/software deployment
- Involvement in the design and revamping of Project Plans, including requirements gathering for new initiatives such as onsite infrastructure deployment, relocations, and cloud provisioning
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders and internal engineering groups

Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience:

A minimum of 7 years of extensive experience in Windows Server Systems Administration, specifically with Windows Server 2019 and 2022, including proficiency in Windows Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and .Net environments
- A minimum of 7 years of significant experience in VMware virtualization Systems Administration, focusing on ESXi 7 and vCenter 7, including knowledge of vCenter HA, vDS, and vSANs
- Comprehensive understanding of networking fundamentals
- Broad knowledge in network design, virtualization, storage solutions, VMware, and firewall protocols
- Familiarity with Capacity and Performance Management
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools
- Strong knowledge in security patch management and vulnerability assessment
- Exposure to Azure IaaS and PaaS cloud infrastructure technologies is advantageous
Professional Certifications:
- Windows Certification (e.g., MCSE) is a plus
- VMware Certification (e.g., VCP) is highly regarded
