Infrastructure SME
The Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert role is a vital part of the Service Delivery function. Responsible for managing and controlling the operation, development and definition of the IT infrastructure and ensure it’s components allow for smooth infrastructure operations and supports project activities.
- Provides technical expertise and takes responsibility to enable the design, planning, implementation, integration, configuration and production support of infrastructure services across the IT workspace/customer communication and collaboration toolset
- Ensures logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total infrastructure solutions that acknowledge technical constraints
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, and requirements allocation and interface definition studies to evaluate compliance of system specifications with customer requirements.
- Private cloud (e.g. OpenStack/KVM, VMware vCloud suite)
- Analyzes effectiveness/efficiency of infrastructure program procedures and processes and develops/recommends improvements.
- Investigates problems in infrastructure and services and assists with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures
- Contributes to the planning and implementation of maintenance, migration and installation work, includes building and management of systems and components in live environments while ensuring system integrity and security
- Implements agreed infrastructure changes and maintenance
- Perform system reviews of client environments and prepare findings documents outlining short and long-term strategies under consideration of global standards
- Defines, documents and responsible for delivery of infrastructure projects or sub-projects
- Uses tools to determine to monitor infrastructure component’s utilization and performance statistics with regards to agreed SLA
- Maintains and documents system information in line with compliance requirements as well as quality assurance and advancement of standards
- Monitors hardware & software lifecycles and capacity
- Supports cost optimization & ensure appropriate licensing
- Prepares presentations, reports, research, and other contract deliverables.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation.
- Develop System Architecture and system design documentation.
- Uses innovative approaches to solve complex problems
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, effective communicator, excellent presenter and able to prioritize across multiple assignments
The Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management
- 20+ years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Experience in implementing new data centers standards for new data centers and retrofit existing data center infrastructures
- Experience in designing and supporting virtualized datacenter
- Microsoft Server Administrator (Microsoft Certification (MCSE) preferred)
- Proficient with PowerShell Scripting
- Knowledge in performing schema changes to MS AD & LDAP

Experience in VMWare vSphere / NSX / vSAN / DC Virtualization Technologies (vSphere; vCentre; ESXi etc.)
- Microsoft Windows and Linux Server operational experience
- Intel compute platforms
- Experience in maintaining applications/systems in clustered environments
- Knowledge of VDI, MS AppV, ThinApp, Citrix, and other application virtualization technologies
- Excellent knowledge of Linux and Windows OS (Recent Versions) 5+ years of experience
- Extensive "hands-on" experience of Linux & Windows Infrastructure and datacenters, Migrations, upgrades, configuration, analysis, and troubleshooting
- Multisite OS management and administration
- SME in Multisite SAN/NAS storage administration.
- Understanding of networking protocols, setup and troubleshooting to include Cisco routing and switching devices, Cisco Firewalls, and switching technology
- ITIL certification
